These are the main stories carried in today's Maltese newspapers:

Times of Malta reports that more than half the existing fish farm cages operated by the three largest companies are illegal, according to the Environment Ministry. Fish farms are being blamed for sea pollution this summer. It also reports that the police were refusing to unveil the outcome of an incident last month where a policeman slapped a naked bather in St George's Bay.

L-oriżżont says new doubts have emerged over Khaled Ben Nasad, the whistleblower over the Libyan medical visas scandal. It also reports that the family of a youth beaten up by bouncers five months ago are still in the dark over the investigation.

The Malta Independent says a police report has been filed by the Libyan medical visas whistleblower following telephone threats to his children. It also reports that a report by the Environment Ministry concluded that fish farms are causing sea pollution as well as breaching their permits.

In-Nazzjon quotes experts expressing concern that the maritime impact assessment and risk analysis in connection with the gas storage tanker has not been published yet. It also says Parliamentary Secretary Ian Borg was critical of the independent media for reporting about the Libyan medical visas issue.
