The Imam of the Muslim community in Malta, Mohamed Elsadi, has condemned yesterday bloody bombing of Egyptian Coptic churches in which 46 people died.

Islamic State has claimed responsibility and warned of more attacks.

He said the bombings in Tanta and Alexandria were attacks on the freedom of worship and the long historical peaceful coexistence between Muslims and Christians in Egypt.

Terrorists were the enemies of humanity and of Muslims and Christians, he said.

He said the world would not be able to end terrorism as long as there were certain governments practicing, legalizing or endorsing terrorism as the case in Syria or watching the growth of terrorist groups with a view to selling more weapons and finding excuses to intervene in other countries' affairs.
