The annual cost of living was up by 1.3 per cent in May, according to the National Statistics Office (NSO).

In its latest bulletin, the NSO reported a rise in the cost of food, clothing, footwear, recreation and culture.

On the other hand, the costs of transport and communication were down when compared to a year earlier.

The NSO said that the reduction in the price of fuels was the main driver behind the downward trend in the cost of transport.
