Liverpool face League One side Oldham Athletic in the FA Cup third round tomorrow and will be hoping for revenge after losing to the third division side last season.

Assistant manager Colin Pascoe told a news conference: "Of course, of course, you know, we want to get into the fourth round. It's a fantastic trophy, you know, the FA Cup, where the history of Liverpool; we've won it seven times and we'll be looking again to win it eight times."

The Reds have a packed fixture list, but few injury worries, so Pascoe said they'll be looking for victory.

"You know, you play the games, you know it's been tough, all these games coming up, but again like I said, you know, the FA Cup is a special trophy and we'll assess everyone, see if everyone's fit and we'll obviously then we'll pick a team that will go out to, to win the game," said the assistant manager on the day it was revealed that his boss, Brendan Rodgers, faces an FA (Football Association) charge.

Pascoe was asked if younger players would start tomorrow.

"Again, you know, they've trained well, the youngsters, you know and I'm sure they'll be ready if they're called upon, but you know we'll looking to put a good performance on Sunday and get through to the next round, you know, so we'll be looking at all aspects, how to win the game and pick the right team," he said.

Liverpool manager Rodgers has been charged by the FA because of his comments about referee Lee Mason after his side's 2-1 Premier League defeat at Manchester City last week. Rodgers described Mason's performance as "horrendous" and questioned whether the referee, who lives near Manchester, should have been selected for the match.
