Football host Gary Lineker is a match of the tray - after being painted to blend in with a rack of vegetables for a new campaign.

The former England star has been given a lick of paint for a Walkers crisps promotion to resemble a selection of veg and fruit.

The only thing to give away the Match Of The Day presenter is his large pair of lugs, left untouched by world body-painting champ Carolyn Roper, who created the effect.

Lineker - who has featured in dozens of ads and promotions for the crisp brand over the years - is launching Gary's Great Ingredient Hunt, in which customers can claim prizes online after buying promotional packs which are available for three months from Monday.

There is also an online game in which daily prizes can be won by following clues on Twitter and Facebook.

Lineker - whose new look took eight hours and 68 tubes of paint - said: "Over the years I've done some weird and wonderful things with Walkers, but I've never been made to disappear.

"It will be fun to see people's reactions when they find me in the image and realise I'm buried in amongst the fresh, homegrown ingredients."
