Banif customers applying for a personal loan will, for a limited period, benefit from an advantageous rate of 5.99 per cent per annum, the bank said.

Along with other products under the ‘Personal Loans Plus Protection’ line, the personalloan from Banif can be taken to finance various projects and purchases.

Customers can borrow up to 100 per cent of the value of the amount, provided it is between €1,000 and €30,000, and benefit from lower monthly repayments by spreading the loan over a period of up to seven years.

Extra repayments may be made to settle the loan earlier without incurring any costs.

Loans from Banif Bank includes an insurance policy taken out by the bank in its name, which protects customers and their families in the case of unforeseen circumstances such as accidental death, temporary or permanent total disablement or redundancy.

“The rate we are offering, together with the added protection provided by the insurance policy, undoubtedly gives us an edge in the market,” said Dirk Spiteri Lucas, head of business strategy.
