Erjon Beu scored a brace as Lija notched their second consecutive victory, beating in-form Vittoriosa in an entertaining match.

Lija took the lead on 11 minutes when Beu latched on a long pass and beat Magri with a low drive.

On 33 minutes a Beppe Antignolo effort missed the target.

Four minutes later, Vittoriosa obtained the equaliser.

Adrian Carabott hit a firm shot on the turn that completely deceived goalkeeper Rizzo.

On the stroke of half-time, Lija regained their lead.

Antoine Borg profited from a defensive blunder by Magri to slot the ball into an empty net.

Vittoriosa went all out in search of an equaliser in the second half but their hopes were dented on the hour when Lija made it 3-1.

Beu notched his second of the match when he lobbed the ball over Magri after a fast break.
