Four people died after they were struck by lightning on a beach in southern Brazil crowded with holidaymakers.

Rescue workers performed CPR immediately after the lightening strike in Santos.

Local media reported that the victims were all members of the same family, including a pregnant woman.

Ambulances at the scene took all four people to hospital but they died on arrival.

In a nearby beach four more people were injured in a separate lightning strike when a sudden storm hit the area.
