A light aircraft skidded off the runway upon landing and ended up on the grass at Malta International Airport on Wednesday afternoon.

No one was injured. Fire tenders were on the scene and the runway was temporarily closed, but airport operations were not affected.

The single-engined propeller aircraft, of the type normally used for flying lessons, was not seriously damaged.
