E.R.R.C. lifeguards this morning assisted two swimmers who found themselves in difficulty while swimming at Ramla Bay, Gozo.
The swimmers needed needed help after being caught in strong rip currents.
They did not need further help after being brought ashore.
The E.R.R.C, which is a Gozo-based volunteer corps, urged swimmers swimmers to watch the colour of the flags hosted on the lifeguards' tower before swimming.
The Lifeguarding service at Ramla is being run on a daily basis till the end of September. The service is possible due to sponsorship from the from the Malta Tourism Authority to cover the running costs, Ministry for Gozo – ECO Gozo, to buy the necessary infrastructure. Support is also being provided by Transport Malta, Civil Protection Department and the Gaia Foundation.
