A Libyan man pleaded not guilty to stealing several items worth more than 2,300 euros from cars in March.

Ismael Habesh, 40, from Mosta, was charged with stealing mobile phones, internet keys and a GPS, among other things, from five cars and damaging them.

The man is married to a Maltese woman and has children.

Magistrate Giovanni Grixti refused to grant him bail and remanded him in preventive custody.
