Libyan national Emad Ibrahim M Wadi was today imprisoned for seven years after admitting to association to import 800 grams of heroin.

The drug was found hidden in a false bottom of a suitcase at the airport on June 26, 2007 when Wadi flew in from Libya with another Libyan, Haithem Swissi.

Wadi had managed to evade the police at the airport but was arrested later in the day as he tried to take another flight back to Libya.

The drug had a value of some €56,674

Swissi, who was also convicted of drug possession, was jailed for eight years last week and, like Mr Wad, was also fined €23,000.
