A 37-year-old Libyan who lives in Malta was today jailed seven months for causing €1,000 worth of damage during an anti-Gaddafi protest in Valletta.

Rashad Mabruk also admitted to relapsing. He was cleared of committing the crime because of religious or racial prejudice.

Mr Mabruk caused damage to the Libyan Airlines travel shop, the City Gate arcades and Freedom Square at night on March 21 and June 3.
