British rock star Liam Gallagher flew into Malta this afternoon for a private holiday, Times of Malta is informed.

The former Oasis frontman who arrived on the Air Malta flight from Heathrow is believed to be staying in Gozo.

As soon as he entered the arrivals lounge, Gallagher was seen hurling a piece of paper into a bin... and missing. He was then seen taking a picture with a fan before leaving the airport.

Together with his brother Noel, Liam Gallagher gained fame as the lead singer of rock band Oasis, before their notorious rivalry split the band. Gallagher continued with the former members of Oasis under the name Beady Eye until they disbanded in 2014.

His erratic behaviour and abrasive attitude have often overshadowed his performances on stage but Gallagher, author of songs like Songbird, is still considered as one of the finest British frontmen.
