A Maltese boy whose life was saved through a stem cell donation by a British woman last year will be meeting his hero on December 29.

12-year-old Leon Azzopardi was saved after he received a blood stem cell transplant to treat a rare blood disorder.

According to the British press, Susan Ratcliffe and her husband Tony will welcome Leon and his family, to their home on December 29.

Susan, 53, and her husband Tony met Leon and his family for the first time in Malta in September.

An avid Manchester United supporter, Leon will watch his team play against Blackburn on New Year's Eve with four tickets donated by Sir Alex Ferguson.
