Legal action has been instituted against four petrol stations by the Malta Resources Authority after samples did not match requirements.

In a statement, the MRA referred to statements regarding the quality of fuel and said importers were obliged to ensure that the fuels met specifications.

It said it carried out regular tests on fuels sold at the filling stations.

Last year, 118 filling stations were tested.

Finance Minister Tonio Fenech confirmed in parliament yesterday that complaints about poor quality diesel had been received by Enemalta in the past few days.
