The National Library will be holding a public lecture from its Urban Landscapes series, coordinated by Mevrick Spiteri and Maroma Camilleri.

Entitled ‘Properties of the Order of St John: structural transformations in Valletta’s houses’, the lecture will talk about urban property, which was a significant asset for the Order of St John.

Their mastering of properties through the set-up of foundations transformed Valletta into a central property hub. The lecture will focus on matters of architecture, social spaces and constructions of houses in Valletta as recorded in archival sources.

The lecture, which is free of charge, will be held on Wednesday at 6.30pm at the National Library, Valletta.
