The Public Policy Department at the University together with the National Council of Women and the National Commission for the Promotion of Equality are holding the first annual lecture on Gender and Public Policy.

The lecture will honour the memory of the late President Agatha Barbara and the late Josephine Burns Debono, two women who paved the road for the participation of Maltese women in the public life.

The memorial lecture will be held on March 11 at 7 p.m. at the Valletta Campus, St Paul Street, Valletta.

Professor Emeritus Elizabeth Meehan, from Queen's University, Belfast, will speak on 'Women and Politics: Presence and Participation in the European Union'.
