EF Language Travel Ltd and Oasis Travel have filed protests holding the organisers of the public transport strike responsible for damages they suffered.

EF Language Travel filed an official letter against the Public Transport Association, the White Taxis Amalgamated and the Minibuses Cooperative while Oasis Travel and Tourism protested against the Transport Federation.

The language school said it had suffered irreparable damage as a result of the transport strike not only because of cancelled tours but also because of the damage to the school’s reputation. It said the strike action was illegal and therefore called on the federation to refund the damage caused.

On its part, Oasis Travel explained that one of its drivers was forced off his vehicle and ordered to leave without the tourists he had on board.

It said that while the drivers had the right to strike, they had no right to cause damages to others who had nothing to do with the strike. Moreover, it said none of the people responsible for the federation did anything to stop the violence and whatever was happening.
