Artist, designer and researcher JP Migneco is showing a collection of works Iniala 5 Gallery, Valletta. The exhibition, Chroma Terra Art Project, showcases a reinterpretation of landscape topographies using bright, stereoscopic colours.

Migneco completed a Bachelor of Arts (Honours) in Fine Arts degree at the Malta College of Arts, Science and Technology (MCAST) before recently completing a Master of Fine Arts (MFA) in Digital Arts degree at the University of Malta.

His research and practice focus primarily on drawing, painting, video and installation processes.

Chroma Terra (chromatic terrain) is an art project which draws inspiration from old and new forms of map-making, such as traditional topographic maps and contemporary chromo-stereoscopic maps, as well as old and new art forms.

The works explore the ways in which landscape and colour-field artworks could be reinterpreted effectively through the use of stereoscopic painting, video, projection and printing methods in an attempt to enhance illusions of depth and flatness on 2D and 3D surfaces.

The exhibition runs  at Iniala5  in Valletta till October 27. This project is supported by Arts Council Malta – Malta Arts Fund.
