This season's Individual League, sponsored by Camray Co. Ltd, came to a close recently. It featured separate singles and doubles events, with five divisions in each category. Matches were played at the Cottonera Sports Complex.

Each fixture consisted of two sets, thus creating the possibility of a drawn result. This variation from standard badminton practice made the competition even more exciting as some established players unexpectedly dropped valuable points against apparently inferior opposition.

The first division title was retained by Boris Lalov (Msida Arrows). He ended his commitments unbeaten with a maximum 18 points.

Kenneth Vella (Pawla Wolves) claimed the runner-up spot, seven points adrift of the winner. Vella had five wins, one draw and three losses.

Patrick Cassar (Pawla Wolves) took the second division title. Like Lalov, Cassar went through the competition unbeaten, four wins and two draws. Samuel Cali (Birkirkara) was second with seven points.

Albert Bezzina (Birkirkara) and Godwin Grech (Pawla Wolves) shared top spot in the third division table with 15 points.

However, the competition regulations envisage that the result of the direct encounter between the two players will determine the title winner. Bezzina was awarded the title while Grech took the runner-up spot.

Charles Cassar (Pawla Wolves) won the fourth division title, having collected the maximum 14 points from the seven matches played. Stephen Serracino Inglott (Msida Arrows) placed second, three points behind the title winner.

Dominique Francica (Pawla Wolves) remained similarly undefeated in the fifth division, topping the table with 17 points with eight wins and a draw.

Cheryl Dimech (Birkirkara) was second, just a single point behind Francica.
