Lady Gaga has become a dial icon – as her new waxwork wears her famous telephone hat.

The display at Madame Tussauds in London is expected to bring in thousands of fans eager to see the freshly-created model of the flamboyant singer.

Eight models of the Just Dance and Poker Face singer were unveiled at locations around the world, each with a different outfit.

The outfits had been kept under wraps until yesterday, but the London figure turned out to be dressed in her Philip Treacy hat. She wore the headgear to plug her Telephone single earlier this year during an appearance on Jonathan Ross’s BBC1 chat show.

The Gaga figure, which has been placed in the interactive music zone of the attraction, also wears a Giorgio Armani Privé midnight blue outfit with towering heels.

Other Tussauds figures were unveiled in New York, Las Vegas, Hollywood, Amsterdam, Berlin, Shanghai and Hong Kong.

General manager of Madame Tussauds London, Edward Fuller, said: “The demand to include Lady Gaga has been overwhelming and we are more than happy to oblige.”

Fans will be able to get close to Gaga by posing with her and dressing up in sunglasses and wigs.

But they will be able to tell the lifelike figure is not the real chart star – if they poke her face.
