Labour leader Alfred Sant has warned that a Labour government will investigate any major contracts awarded by the government just before the elections.

Dr Sant said that just before the elections, major contracts were expected to be awarded in the IT sector to please certain people. The same thing had happened when the governemnt awarded the contract for the building of the Gozo ferries just before the 1996 elections, he said.
