Norman Hamilton (March 27) feels that the reasons behind Labour's recent electoral defeat and the forthcoming leadership contest should not be the subject of public discussion in the media. I beg to differ. The issues - particularly the qualities required of a future leader and potential Prime Minister - are certainly ones of major national importance which undoubtedly merit widespread debate beyond the confines of the Ċentru Nazzjonali Laburista. In truth, Labour has everything to gain by listening to different views but a lot to lose in telling us all to mind our own business. Although I can fully understand Mr Hamilton's disappointment with the election result, he would do well to steer clear of stances which are evidently reminiscent of sulky behaviour.
