Labour MP Etienne Grech called on the government to remove abandoned radio antennae.

Dr Grech said these were built when Malta was a British colony and were then essential for communication.

Most of these, Dr Grech said, were at Wied Rini in the limits of Baħrija. Some were broken and in danger of being pulled by the winds injuring someone in the process.
They were also leaving a negative visually impact on the natural site they were in.

Dr Grech said Transport Minister Joe Mizzi had already told him there was a planning application for their removal and that a tender would be issued as soon as this was approved.
