Helena Dalli, the Labour spokesman on public administration, has criticised the government for having appointed Engineer Karl Camilleri as project administrator at the MCCAA (Malta Consumer and Competition Affairs Authority) after he resigned from his post as CEO of Enemalta.

Dr Dalli said Mr Camilleri resigned in the wake of the scandal on the disposal of Mercaptan, criticism over his poor administration at Enemalta, and his spending.

Yet this was another example of how persons who failed in their sector were moved to other positions instead of being removed, the Labour MP said.

This was a case of GonziPN serving the people who were close to it, independently of their capabilities, she said.
