Toni Abela's case is scandalous and continues to show Labour's true colours, the Prime Minister said this evening.

Addressing a political activity in St Paul's Bay, Prime Minister Lawrence Gonzi put more pressure on Labour leader Joseph Muscat to sack his deputy Toni Abela following the airing of another recording today.

Dr Gonzi said that Dr Abela had now not only been heard saying that he intervened with a policeman who supported Labour not to press charges over a fight at a PL club but he was also caught concealing a drug case.

"This is shocking and puts Dr Abela in a more untenable position", Dr Gonzi said.

"Beware of Llabour as it is already showing its true colours distinguishing between Labourites and Nationalists from the opposition. You can just imagine what happens if they are in power," he warned.

Addressing those who he said were still deliberating on whether to vote for a PN government yet again, Dr Gonzi said that a wrong decision might put the country in serious risk and cancel all the achievements acquired in the past years.

"You might feel aggravated with something we might have not given you but no one can accuse us that we didn't move the country forward," he said.

"Whenever the country was administered by the PN, progress was made and everyone reaped the benefits. On the other hand whenever labour was in power the country stopped programmes and moved backwards," he said.

Dr Gonzi said that the PN was once again promising another five years of progress, job creation and state of the art education and healthcare. The PN, he said, was the only real  guarantee for the country to stay on the right course.
