Local singer-songwriter Kurt Calleja will be launching his new album Love on Mars, at a live concert being held at Inspire Foundation next week.

The concert, which will take place next Wednesday, forms part of a series of artistic fundraising activities being organised by the foundation.

The show will kick off with performances from local drama and dance schools including the School of Performing Arts, Arts Excel and The Dance Project. Then will be joined by Eurovision sensations Gianluca Bezzina and Chiara, as well as a host of other local performers.

Inspire Foundation CEO Nathan Farrugia said the event would serve two purposes, raising both funds and awareness to “foster an inclusive society”.

Calleja said the idea to hold the album launch at the foundation came to him during a visit to the Marsascala site some seven years ago.

“I came here and needless to say I was Inspired by inspire,” Calleja said.

The album is a departure from his previous releases as the young performer said the album “pushed the boundaries between electronic and acoustic music”.

Tickets may be purchased through www.ooii.com.mt at a price of €10. Music fans with disabilities may attend free of charge.
