The KSU executive committee said this evening it has no statutory authority to take stands issues such as the installation of a condom machine at university, without the necessary approvals from the Social Policy Commission (KPS).

The council said it will adhere to its statutory obligations, and encourages the eligible student organisations to express their views and understandings on the matter in the coming commission meetings, and if need be, a vote would be taken in this regard.

"KSU is and will always be loyal to its statutory obligations, and as such, until a decision by KPS is taken, it will refrain to comment on issues relating to social policy," it said.
