AS Libertas recently organised the annual five-mile, 3km and fun run road races in Mosta.

In the men's five-mile race, Charles Cilia (Mellieħa) and Haithem Ksheim (St Patrick's) took the lead followed by Robert Attard (Mellieħa), Kevin Zammit (AS Libertas) and Gerald Grech (AS Libertas).

The duo ran neck and neck throughout the race until Ksheim outsprinted Cilia in the last 200m, winning the race in a time of 25:14.

Cilia was a close second, just four seconds behind the winner in a new personal best of 25.18. Attard was third in a good time of 25.43.

In the women's race, the top runners virtually ran on their own all the way. Giselle Camilleri (St Patrick's), back in top form after an absence of some years due to injury, won in 30.24 followed in second place by Angela Sammut (Pembroke, 32.09) and Rachel Galea (Żurrieq Wolves, 34.11).

Also taking part in the race were staff members from the EF Language Travel. They did the race as part of the EF Beijing Olympics 2008 Spirit Challenge.
