Swimming is an ideal sport activity for the entire family and even now, it is not too late to join the sessions organised by KMS Skolasport for the remainder of the scholastic term.

Organised by the Kunsill Malti għall-iSport (KMS) and sponsored by Kellogg’s, Skolasport is receiving registrations for swimming lessons held at the heated National Pool within the Tal-Qroqq Sports Complex.

Swimming is a cost-effective fitness exercise that has a wide range of both physical and psychological benefits. It is a great form of exercise as the pressure and resistance of the water makes the body work harder.

Apart from burning calories, swimming is great for toning up as it works on all the muscles of the body. This low-impact exercise is ideal for pregnant women, people with mobility problems and seniors.

Open for all age groups and abilities, the one-hour sessions are held every Saturday up to May, between 9 a.m. and noon with Renzo Galea as the co-ordinator.

The Skolasport philosophy is to teach swimming for leisure.

This basically means showing the participants how to enjoy and become more familiar with the aquatic environment.

Further information about the swimming lessons at Skolasport can be obtained from the Programmes Section at the KMS Head Office on tel. 21660658/9 or via e-mail: programmes@sportsmalta.org.mt. One can also visit the KMS website, www.sportsmalta.org.mt.
