Q: Six months ago I ordered a new, made-to-measure kitchen, but to date it has not been delivered, even though I was promised it would arrive in 13 weeks. What can I do?
A: As long as you have the promised delivery date written in the contract of sale, the law protects you. When the date of delivery is clearly specified and not honoured by the supplier, without any adequate explanation, you are free to cancel the order and claim any deposits or money paid.
It is important that such contracts also include the amount of the deposit paid. Should you wish to cancel your order but the company refuses to give you back your deposit, do not wait longer and register your complaint with the Consumer and Competition Division by calling on Freephone 8007 4400.
