From Julia Psaila, 12, of Birkirkara
Dear Junior News, I am writing to thank you for printing my write-up about Garfield in issue 563. Imagine my surprise when I looked at the paper and realised that the whole front page had been dedicated to Garfield! I couldn't believe it and I was soon contacted by family and friends, who were all so happy to see my work in a newspaper.

I was so excited that it took me some time to notice my picture, Under The Sea, had also been printed in Gallery.

Issue 563 was therefore very special and I will keep it to remind me of the day my name was on the front page of an important newspaper.

My brother Michael also says a very big thank you, since he recently won one of the Playmobil competitions.

There is nothing better than reading Junior News. It is indeed a special newspaper!

We are delighted that you and your brother enjoy Junior News so much Julia. And we are printing your letter to show everyone, who may be thinking about contributing, that it's worth it! As you say, not only you but your family and friends got a lot of happiness from seeing your contribution. And, since it was the turn of 12-year-olds in Gallery, there was your picture too, proving that there's no limit to people's chances of appearing in Junior News. And you've won an €11.65 voucher for sending this week's star letter. Well done.

From Lara Camilleri, 11, of Attard
Dear Junior News, today I just thought about climate change and global warming and their effects on us all. Climate change causes floods and storms. We also have to help in order to save energy.

Some few tips are these: Buy energy-saving light-bulbs. Save water by taking a shower instead of a bath. For short distances walk or go by bike instead of going by car. Do not leave TV, computers etc on stand-by mode. I hope that you all follow these tips in order to save energy.

Climate change is such a huge, worldwide problem that it almost seems as if it's too big for us to deal with. But as you point out Lara, there are many things we can do. This time of year it's nice to walk or cycle instead of riding in a car. We can recycle clothes and not waste food. Another good thing is to switch a washing machine heater to 30˚C. Statistics show that if everyone in the UK did this the amount of carbon dioxide saved would almost fill 143,000 hot air balloons. And the amount of energy saved would power 640 football stadiums or the UK's street lighting for almost a year!

• The sender of the star letter each week will receive an €11.65 voucher to exchange and a VIP 10 per cent discount card for all toys at Toyland, for a whole year!

• Send your letters, together with your full name, age and address to Junior News.
