Kennedy Grove in Salina is to be extended by 3,000 square metres in a project which is expected to be completed by the end of next year.

Environment Minister Leo Brincat said his ministry will be utilising €330,000 pledged by the Transport Ministry as compensation after a picnic area of some 2,000 square metres bordering the coast road was taken up for the widening of the road.

The extension, across the road from the area that was taken over, will feature a playground and picnic facilities as well as some 100 indigenous trees.
