Two Maltese men are undergoing final preparations for a gruelling 324-kilometre kayak journey in aid of children's charity Puttinu Cares Foundation.

Albert Gambina and Dorian Vassallo plan to kayak from Mahdia in Tunisia to Golden Bay in Malta via the islands of Lampedusa and Linosa, a distance of 175 nautical miles. The initiative, Kayak for Cancer, will involve two long legs, each lasting 24 hours.

The men will leave Tunisia on July 17 and hope to reach Malta on July 22.

Donations to support the initiative can be made by cheque, payable to Puttinu Cares Foundation, and addressed to: Kayak For Cancer, Puttinu Cares Foundation, c/o Maltapost plc, 305 Qormi Road, Marsa MTP 1001.
