Malta champions Kavallieri Blue Label are currently on the look-out for a new trainer after player-coach Mike Scholey has decided to return to the UK to continue with his business ventures there.

Scholey, the popular winger and former stalwart in the national team as he holds dual citizenship, has been training the Kavallieri side for the past six years.

The last two seasons were memorable ones for the team based at the Zmerc Pub. Kavallieri won back-to-back league and cup doubles to stamp their authority on the local game. They also figured in an international tournament last May in Prague and finished second.

A Kavallieri spokesman yesterday said the club is now looking for another coach, preferably a former player who, like Scholey, has the charisma and drive to lead the team for the upcoming season.

The club also needs the assistance of voluntary officials to work in the administrative section of the organisation. Those interested may write to Kavallieri RFC, Ararat, Independence Avenue, Mosta, or phone 21-434311 (email info@kavallieri.org).
