At least 60 mourners were injured when Indian police fired in the air and used teargas shells to break up a procession by hundreds of Shi'ite Muslims in Indian Kashmir's main city. Public gatherings, including religious processions as well as marches by separatists, have not been allowed in Kashmir since a bloody rebellion against Indian rule broke out in 1989.
