Juventus 4 Lecce 0

Juventus thrashed Lecce to move up to fifth in Serie A.

After Alberto Aquilani's early opener, Felipe Melo got the second from the penalty spot and Fabio Quagliarella had them 3-0 up before half-time.

Alessandro Del Piero then capped a fine afternoon for the hosts as he came off the bench to get the fourth eight minutes from time.

Juventus dominated the game throughout, with Milos Krasic's early shot-cross testing Antonio Rosati.

The visiting goalkeeper was beaten for the first time in the 12th minute when Claudio Marchisio teed up Aquilani who finished from the edge of the area.

Juve had plenty of chances to add to their lead but Quagliarella and Leonardo Bucci both sent good chances wide before Rosati pushed Krasic's shot around the post.

Lecce had shown little but Marco Storari had to be alert to make a good save, keeping out Daniele Corvia's 23rd minute shot.

Having squandered plenty of chances, Juve were gifted their second when they were awarded a dubious penalty as Andrea Rispoli brought down Krasic.

There may have been doubts about the decision, but Melo made sure of his spot-kick, finding the corner of the net.

The third was more straightforward as great play from Krasic left Quagliarella with an easy header moments before the break.

The second half was slow to start, with Edward Ofere fumbling a chance for the visitors and Aquilani firing high and wide at the other end.

Quagliarella missed a good chance to make it 4-0 in the 64th minute when he should have turned Aquilani's cross home, while Cesare Bovo wasted Lecce's best chance when left unmarked eight minutes later.

Storari made another great save to preserve the clean sheet 11 minutes from time, keeping out Rispoli's rasping shot.

But Del Piero had the final word, latching on to Krasic's pass to fire home.
