Juventus are interested in Sampdoria's influential playmaker Antonio Cassano, who was again instrumental in Sunday's 1-1 draw between the sides.

"He is a boy who is becoming a man. He is exciting and a good player," Juve president Giovanni Cobolli Gigli told Radio Anch'io. "Cassano is a name which we are considering."

Milan's Nesta to undergo further back surger

Injury-plagued AC Milan defender Alessandro Nesta will undergo another back operation on Tuesday to try to save his career.

The former Italy international, 32, has not played this season having managed 29 league games last term and just 14 the season before with continuing niggles.

"A.C. Milan announces that Alessandro Nesta will go under the knife tomorrow morning," the Serie A club said in a statement on Monday.

Milan had hoped a rehabilitation stint in the United States had cured his back problems but he broke down again last week.

David Beckham, who limped out of Sunday's 2-1 defeat by Inter with a calf injury, has been named in the squad for Wednesday's UEFA Cup last 32 first leg at Werder Bremen but Kaka is again out with a foot problem.
