Joseph Zerafa, who together with his wife Censina, on Monay admitted to association in the trafficking of 10kg of cannabis was jailed ffor 14 years and fined €40,000 by Mr Justrice Joseph Galea Debono this afternoon.

Mrs Zerafa was jailed for five years and fined 10,000.

Charles Camilleri, 41 of Marsa, who was found guilty by a jury earlier this afternoon, was jailed for 13 years and fined €30,000.

During the trial the police explained that they found Mr Camilleri and Mr Zerafa in a vehicle where the drug was hidden. They arrested them after a chase which a Police Inspector said was like an episode of Starsky and Hutch. During the chase Mr Zerafa phoned his wife, telling her to hide drugs which were at their home.
