Junior Chamber International Malta, in collaboration with HSBC Bank Malta plc and KPMG Malta, is launching the sixth Outstanding Young Person Award.

The award gives deserved recognition, on a national and international level, to any individual who has made a difference in his or her community and beyond.

All eligible nominations are submitted to the Junior Chamber International TOYP Programme and given the opportunity to be selected as one of the 10 Outstanding Young Persons of the World, to be honoured during the 66th JCI World Congress in Brussels.

In 2009, Julian Azzopardi was one of the winners of the JCI 10 Outstanding Young Persons of the World during the World Congress in Hammamet, Tuni­sia.

Young men and women between the ages of 18 and 40 may be nominated in one of 10 categories for the TOYP honour: Business, economic, and/or entrepreneurial accomplishment; political, legal and/or governmental affairs; academic leadership and/or accomplishment; cultural achievement; moral and/or environmental leadership; contribution to children’s welfare, world peace, and /or human rights; humanitarian and/or voluntary service; scientific and/or technological development; personal improvement and/or accomplishment; and medical innovation.

The presentation of awards will be held during an awards night, during which JCI Malta will award winners for each of the 10 TOYP categories with one of the finalists also being declared as The Outstanding Young Person for 2010.
