I keep promising myself that I will not mention Jeffrey Pullicino Orlando Smith or that eternal sidekick of his, Jesmond. Boo to that say I—they too cute and cuddly to forget with their never-ending fomenting of heroic acts.

The turncoat and his semi-turncoat are sometimes outplayed and outflanked by the glorious lawyer from Ghaxaq. The latter now seems grandly becalmed and also dying to broker some long-lasting, much-needed truce to maybe stop the galloping advances of the practically soon-to-be-anointed prince, I mean Prime Minister, Joseph, the all-conqueror. Franco lately sounds more like a good shining pupil who wants a few stars added to his book by his formerly detested, madly maligned, headmaster.

So after all what is—what can be?—new under the sun with regard to JPOS? Instead of zipping his gob till Mistra is forgotten in about 2 zillion years, this JPOS rants on and on till we, the public and the bloggers, revile him and his ways till we bug ourselves and our readers to silly vales of tears. And what’s with this Smith he has added to his already-addled and mighty, weighty name?

First time I saw the dentist MP referred to as JPOS I was shocked. What the **** I wondered—was that a mistake or are there many JPOs now? Isn’t one one too many for our parliament and politics? I shivered and cried thinking he had magically split himself, amoeba-like, into two or many selves. How my head thumped and fretted.

Now here’s my latest gripe about this, our former green man of Malta now fighting hard to don the mantle of the one with the best jests and jokes.

He has, on various occasions, said that he has plenty of information to prove beyond doubt that 10 MPs—all obviously hailing from his own party—had wanted to vote against RCC and against their own party in the parliamentary motion to oust RCC. He never proved this claim and I, as a voter and citizen of this isle, do wish to know what double-faced MPs sit in the corridors of power or thereabouts. His insights are not just of importance to his own survival or stealing of limelight—they are of national importance.

JPOS has now said that the PN had better expel RCC or he will spill the beans about him and his devious ways. So the reasoning seems to be that if the party expels RCC, JPOS will be content to shut up about all stories of spying, collusion and other strange treachery. If he has such damning news and proof, we the people—red, blue, yellow, green or multicoloured—should know about it immediately. And in fact we should have known ages ago, whatever the PN does with, or to, RCC. Not just to damn RCC as a double-dealing, treacherous, treason-weaving megalomaniac. We need to know to also damn whosoever was in the MLP and colluded with him and did not denounce him there and then.

Was this left hidden because the timing was not right yet? Is such a damning piece of news, which now even the PL leader seems to know about, kept hidden for the public good? If RCC was, as such revelations claim, this scoundrel of unbelievable heights, then he should have been denounced so that he would not have had the right, moral or material, to represent our land.

Unfortunately JPOS and whoever is backing him and egging him on are ending up—the whole lot of them—with lots of egg and worse on their face.  Such a long silence from JPOS means that he himself colluded in keeping a treacherous, dangerous man in a position of trust, not a partisan but a national position.

If JPOS or anyone from any party speaks out now he is condemning himself as being a willing and knowing accomplice in leaving a brigand, a fraud and a dangerous man unchecked for way too long.
