Josette Dalli, wife of former Cabinet minister and former Europen commissioner John Dalli, passed away on Tuesday night.

Ms Dalli, 64, was born in Gżira on February 13, 1951. She met her husband in the early 1970s when they were both volunteers within the youth movement of the Nationalist Party. They got married on September 21, 1975 and had two daughters, Claire and Louise.

Ms Dalli was described by a family friend as “a very unassuming person who kept a low profile despite her husband’s public life”.

The funeral will be held today at 8.30am at the church of Our Lady of Good Counsel, in Paceville.

In a statement, the PN expressed its condolences to the Dalli family.
