Sixteen year olds should utilise their right to vote on April 11, a right given to them recently making Malta one of the first countries to allow people as young to vote, Prime Minister Joseph Musscat said this evening.

He was speaking t the launch of this year’s START campaign in St Julian’s.

Dr Muscat referred to assistance the government was providing for young people including measures aimed to reduce unemployment as well as to eradicate precarious employment.

The START campaign was first introduced in 2012 to encourage and aid young people who wanted to be involved in the local elections.
