Expect guest artists at this year's Joseph Calleja open-air concert - but you'll have to wait until the night itself to know who they are.
The world-famous tenor said today that the guests "should please a lot of different tastes", adding that this year's concert will bring the focus back to opera music, with "longer sections from popular and beloved opera pieces."
Mr Calleja will be performing at the Floriana Granaries on 28 July. He will be joined on stage by Italian icon Antonello Venditti and American singer-songwriter Suzanne Vega, as well as by the BOV Children's Choir, led by Gillian Zammit, and the Malta Philharmonic Orchestra under the direction of maestro Stephen Mercurio
Standing tickets will be free of charge, with seated tickets available for sale online with prices starting from €80.
This is the 10th year the open-air concerts are taking place. Mr Calleja said the concert has changed the local music scene, "especially when you consider its effect on young people and the way it has exposed a wider audience to classical music."
The concert is supported by Bank of Valletta, the Malta Tourism Authority, Go and Allied Newspapers, among others.
