Mo, a young artist is stuck and cannot think of anything to paint.

He is whisked away to the world of opera, where a number of loveable and quirky characters help him explore the genre of classical music and opera through a number of different experiences.

Creativity starts to flow and beautiful music comes to life.

Mo’s Art is a theatrical performance aimed at children ages eight years and over.

Directed by Antonella Mifsud and musically coached by Karmena Radovska along with Ramona Zammit Formosa at the piano, the cast, made up of nine people, has been working for the past four months on rehearsals for Mo’s Art, a piece devised by the director herself.

Toi Toi believes that opera is an important and relevant art form even at present. It was the pop music of the past and could still be enjoyed today. People of all ages and social classes would clamour to fill the theatre to enjoy a night out at the opera. Many of the popular arias being sung in Mo’s Art were sung in the streets, and a lot of them remained popular even to date.

Mo’s Art takes is being held at the Teatru Manoel Studio Theatre on March 22 to 24 for schools and on March 26 for the public.

Also at the Manoel Theatre are two dance productions: Balloon et l' Âme by Żfin Malta today and tomorrow (schools) and Sunday (public), and Ara Ġejja by the Moveo Dance Company on the May 3-5 (schools) and May 7 (public).

Information can be found on the Teatru Manoel’s website or through the theatre’s Booking Office at bookings@teatrumanoel.com.mt or 21246389.
