The JCI Malta national board of directors for 2009 was appointed at a national convention held recently at the Grand Hotel Excelsior, Floriana. The board will convene from January 1 under the responsibility of the newly-elected president Maria Zahra.

The team is supported by Karl Grech, deputy president and vice-president International; Rachael Blackburn Sciberras, vice-president, Training; Charlotte Gregory, president, LOM de La Vallette; and Keith Chetcuti, president, LOM de Wignacourt, assisted by secretary general Brian Muscat, treasurer Gordon Borg, membership director Francesca Spiteri Maempel as well as Chris Mallia, the immediate past president. The board will also be strengthened with the inclusion of Marvin Cuschieri, who will take up responsibilities of EU projects.

The convention started with a morning training session entitled 'Flirting4Success, Creating Dynamic Relationships', conducted by Melanie Harris, a JCI International trainer and 2008 national president of JCI Scotland.

The audience present as well as members were invited to a networking lunch to exchange views and discuss their training.

The afternoon gave stage to the AGM, chaired by David Pace, JCI Malta senator and immediate past national president, assisted by Mr Mallia and acting secretary general Brian Muscat.
