Preparations for the Javier Zanetti mini-camp are in full swing as around 165 young footballers are expected to take part in a three-day campus which will be conducted by the legendary Inter captain from Friday till Sunday at the Luxol Ground.

Paul Fenech, the mastermind behind this activity, met with the media to announce the programme of events for this week’s campus which will see the former Argentina defender also meet local fans of the Italian Serie A club.

“This is an opportunity of a lifetime for the 165 kids who will be taking part in the mini-camp,” Fenech told timesofmalta.com.

“Javier Zanetti has had an exceptional football career where apart from distinguishing himself for his football abilities he was also a perfect role model for the upcoming players with his impeccable behaviour both on and off the pitch.

“I’m sure the young participants will have a lot to learn from such a legendary player.”

The Javier Zanetti mini-camp gets under way on Friday and come to a close on Sunday at the Luxol Grounds.
