A man was yesterday jailed for two years after admitting to having threatened two police officers.

Abdifatah Abdi, 20, a Somali who had been living in Paola, pleaded guilty to threatening two female police officers and attempting to damage a police car on Friday evening.

The incident took place when two officers from the vice squad went to Marsa and found Mr Abdi arguing with a prostitute.

He then began arguing with the two officers.

He also pleaded guilty to disobeying police orders, breaching the peace and committing the crime during the operative period of a suspended sentence.

Magistrate Ian Farrugia jailed him for two years and fined him €4,000.
