Paul Lughermo, 57 of Valletta, was today jailed for 40 days and fined €100 after being convicted of performing lewd acts and offending public morals on July 24 at Fekruna, St Paul's Bay.

The court was told that two foreign men had reported to the police that they had seen the accused perform the lewd acts in a disused building. He was then arrested by the police.

The accused testified that he suffered from various conditions, was under medication, and had been urinating in the disused building. The court did not believe his version after noting that he had bought items from a nearby hotel and could, therefore, have used the facilities there.
